Civil registration differs a lot from what you are used in the United States and other countries. Church records in Brazil are mainly under the Catholic Church and in many ways different from Anglican Church, Episcopalian and other Churches from around the word. So if you are a beginner, go first to see the two webinars available for free from Family Search. You can watch them in the comfort of your home and computer for free.
